Sign Local Immigration Policy Petition by August 6, 2025
Sign the Petition Now and Attend the Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday, August 6, 6:00 pm, Lane Auditorium, County office building.
As you know, we've been speaking regularly at City Council and Board of Supervisor meetings. We continue to have grave concerns about immigration policy at the federal and state levels. That has prompted the Local Government Accountability group to draft a Resolution and circulate a supporting petition.
If passed it will require individuals holding themselves out as federal agents to be unmasked, provide identification and justification for their actions. Whenever possible local law enforcement will verify the credentials.
The City Council received copies at their July 21 meeting. We have since followed up with a counselor who we hope will champion this effort. The Board of Supervisors will receive their version of the Resolution at the meeting tomorrow evening.
The Resolutions are identical. One petition will support both. At this point we have about 600 signatures and would like to reach 1000 or better.
